Looking for an SC300, got some unique questions
I've been looking around the net and this site over the last few weeks and have learned a ton about what to look for when buying an SC300 but I have two questions I've yet to find good answers to.
1. I'm a big guy and the parking brake handle digs into my thigh like a crazed pit bull. Is there a way to move it or lower it ? I guess you could swap in a RHD console but my wife is not much smaller than me and if the choice is having it dig in my thigh or hear from her about it digging in her thigh I'll just keep it on my side I guess.
2. Does having a sun roof substantially reduce headroom ? I have a 2000 STS now with a sun roof and you lose about two inches of valuable room to have a hole in the roof. I don't really want a sun roof but would buy an otherwise nice car with one if it doesn't use up all the headspace.
You guys have a very informative forum here, its really great.

Anytime you have a model with sunroof vs. a model without it, the headroom is reduced in the equipped model.
You probably don't know this (assumption), but the SCs did come without a sunroof. However, it is a VERY small percentage. Maybe 1 out of every hundred+ cars came without it if I were to guess. You can check the classifieds if there are hardtops for sale. Good luck.

The only time I've had a chance to sit in an SC was when we repo'd one at work. The headroom wasn't bad, but knowing how much I lost in the STS I wanted to check my options. I think I have a car picked out, it has a sunroof so I guess I'll have to deal.
It would be nice to know about the parking brake handle though.

I'm 6'2" 185lbs and I don't have any problem fitting in the car with sunroof. Only time I'm uncomfortable is if I forget to take my Beretta out of it's holster before I sit down.

I'm about 5'9 and sometimes I feel too tall for the SC I don't know how you big dudes do it. Sometimes my left leg feels like it gets cramped after driving for a while. I guess I'm a 4-door car type of guy, that will ultimately be the reason for me to sell it

Or you are a disproportioned man or just didn´t adjust right your seat. I´m 6´2 and there´s plenty of room for me. If I wanna race I can´t use a helmet, but for normal driving I´m more than pleased with the space I have.

The Supra seats are manual right ? I think I read that somewhere. In the STS I just have to lay the back a little more, no big deal. The one time I sat in one the headroom was not as bad as the brake, but I only sat for a little while. I wanted to test drive it but it had a flat. If the paperwork goes through I'm going to look a green 95 300 next week.

I am 6"1' and prefer to sit pretty up-right/straight, my headroom is sufficient. though when my hair is 'poofy' i can feel it brushing the roof--no biggie.
I did just get a bucket seat with low max seat rails... so head room is never going to be an issue now :P
