So this is my first post and I'm really hoping this great community can help me.

I have a sc300 1998 with stock radio, 12 changer in trunk plus tape deck. Changer died years ago and I've been using a tape adaptor I believe from Belkin. Well today it stuck in the deck! Radio screen is now blank and responds to nothing, not power or eject or changing to fm mode, just sits blank.

Worse yet the damn thing is sti spooling, even after the Key is out of the ignition. So it's draining battery right now as I ride the train to university helpless to stop it! Should I just get a flat plastic implement and try to force it out? In the past sometimes the Lexus radio would trip up with the adaptor, attempt to rewind it fail and then eject everytime I try to put it back. I'm kind of hoping it just trips out while in gone, ejects and resets before it kills my battery..

I need help, has anyone had this happen to them before?

sorry for your mishap... maybe this should have been posted in the audio section? anyway... if its gone as haywire as you state... remove the stereo and purchase a used one, i dont think theres any coming back from this one, I use to do car audio professionally... there are tons of used ones flying around for cheap... they arent too hard to remove either...GL

CrimsonSC3 is right its time for a new one
to get ur adapter out jus slide a flathead in and try to pop it out dnt apply too much pressure tht it might break in there tho
or get a new adpater fairly cheao now a days too like the radios

orrrrr it seems like a good time to upgrade the sound system

well i live in cali, and i have a amp 12 disc changer with mag and a head unit, 95% condition. everything works, no blacking out of the screen. All for 80 bucks. =) came off my 95 sc4, idk if itl work on your 98
