sem and oem black match?
Well I have come across money and am going to start doing things to my interior.
I was wondering does the SEM interior paint come close to the same shine as the oem black? Reason is I am going to try and source two black door panels and a few other interior pieces that are not in the best condition in my car and the rest of the interior will be painted using SEM.
AND yes I have search and searched and searched! but I never found a side by side comparison. The SEM itself works amazing though from what I can tell and I am excited to try it out with acetone and sandpaper as my cleaning/roughing agent.
Thanks in advance for any help with my answer.

SEM and OEM never match, I tried both. The SEM black has two different kinds, the shiny(clear coat) and the dull (non-clear coat). The shiny SEM is way too shiny for OEM match and the dull is more closer to OEM but you can tell the difference in sunlight. I would say don't mix SEM with OEM, either go with all SEM or all OEM.
I wish I took a pic of the SEM wheel with OEM airbag, but I didn't . ppl can tell the difference in sunlight but not at night

mehh...
I have a mixture of oem black and SEM landau black throughout my interior and people can't even tell which is which. It all boils down to how many layers you spray on carefully. The more layers, the glossier. thats what i did over a year and a half ago, and it still looks the same.

Go with the SEM Landua Black it is the closest match to the oem. I painted my dash with it and it is hard to tell the difference even in direct sunlight. All my other panels are oem black. I frequently ask people to look at my interior and point out the painted part and non of them can tell the difference.
Yes it does take amoural and other cleaners well and shine just like the oem pieces.
Just take your time and prep the serface real good before painting.

I have to agree. I have finally finished with my interior. I used 13 cans of SEM black Landau and it looks amazing. I also used 4 cans of SEM Black GMC paint for the leather seats, console, and armrest. Looks amazing.
