Default TRAC problem.

ok guys as promised i searched thoroughly for the problem on the forum and couldnt find anything but" check engine +trac light combo, BRAKE + TRAC light combo andthat. but none answered my question.

The problem:

the car starts and as i start driving it,there is this occasional short "BZZTTT" noise that occurs every 20 seconds or so. when that noise happens my lights dim.this happens for a minute or 2 and then the TRAC light comes on. once the light comes on everything returns to normal, but obviously my traction control doesnt work.

so any insight on this guys?

I read some thread on here that said when those 2 lights are on together its 95% chance it is your main o2 sensors. Obviously that would make 0 sense here. Check your battery leads. Have you tried pulling codes

I just re-read your post. Disregard what I said about O2 sensors. I see where your going. Pull the codes and go from there.

Another question. Are you sure that your check engine light works. Not burned out?

Found this. Don't know if it applies.

Symptom: Dash TRAC light is on.

DO NOT adjust the traction control sensor, (the one farthest from the Battery) unless the TRAC light is on. If you do have to adjust it, you can actually do this one by hand through trial and error. Kill the engine, make a small adjustment and start it up. When the light goes off the sensor is set, very simple. The TRAC control does the opposite of the throttle; it actually closes up the airway or chokes the vacuum, to simulate the driver taking their foot off the pedal. Very cool.

Which Trac light is it. Is the one that says Trac off or is it the one that is in the speedo that only says Trac?

When my Trac light came one (not the Trac off light), i need to top off my brake fuild and l let air out of my lines. Hasn't been on again. But yes make sure you CEL light is working if it is the Trac off light.

Next question when everything dims does it reset your time and radio settings. If so check to see if you battery is in good condition. This also happen to me. To the point when the car would start, I thought the start had went out, but it was just a bad battery.

1: its the one on the tachometer that says TRAC
2:i had that problem earlier on where everything shut off and i had it fixed. simply corroded terminals. battery is fine now. the thing is this weird buzzing noise that makes my lights dim a bit. when the buzzing stops TRAC comes on.

Thank you guys for the insight and i will try your solutions to this annoying problem. if the problem persists i will follow up.

sounds like the electric pump for the fluid is involved.
