Exactly, when SW ran the 242mph at the TX mile he was in 5th, most of my fun runs are usually in 3rd and 4th I never reach 5th much less 6th.

I think its funny that some people are getting upset over the whole speed issue.

Yeah i stated it went 150, but like someone said after me. For a old car the tach can read wrong and most likely is. I just stated what i seen.

Also if you need a vid they are on the net. There is a auto going about 145. but again the accuracy of the tach issue, plus no info on the mods or if it was stock.

Now later if I attempt something that stupid again I will have something with me to verify.

Yeah the 6 speed supra was definitely built for top speed runs. Aero, power, gearing, brakes, all of it makes it a very happy car over 100. And STABLE. It was almost scary how smooth it felt over 150

maybe 97 manuals are special?
My stock engine limiter is 7500. Yes, I know redline is 6.5k. And the 04 5.7 GTO 6spd I was racing hit his limiter at 144. He told me so. (i thought he gave up).
All i know was my tach needle was at ~6700 and my speedo was low 150s. Car was still accelerating.
Setup at the time:
BFI mod, blitz LM drop-in, EGR delete, Denso Iridium plugs, ALL tune up items replaced (fuel filter, plug wires, pcv, etc) & ALL FLUIDS new (w/synthetic oil). Wheels same as in sig pic: GramLight 57Fs, full Supra TT brake conversion.
In this exact configuration i ran 15.6 at the track. I was happy, especially since my reaction time i could never get less than 0.5. I looked it up and Road&Track pulled 15.5 for a stock new SC300. I was happy; my car had 130k on it at the time and she was 8 years old.

Come on bro...GTO's are not limited to 144 and a 15.6 second car will be soooo far behind a GTO in any race that it's not even funny.

New members are younger. Not much expierience. Impatient, dont want to read, want a lot for very little. Been happening for some time now. All you guys that have been around a long time should have noticed this several years ago and a lot of the members with crazy builds have sold and moved on. Like Din with his bagged SC and Detuned.

Watch, next time someone posts something thats just retardddded ask them how old they are.

Right, the GTO you were racing hit his limiter that doesn't exist. Some of you guys are so full of ****.

By the way, a STOCK 04 GTO with the manual will do 0-60 in about 5 seconds and will have a top speed of about 162-165. I know the 05s with the 6.0l will do a 13 second quarter mile out of the box. The 04s aren't what you would call slouches either.
