I canīt speak for others, but Iīlive in Argentina (2600ft over sea level) and I didnīt reach that speed in 2 or 3 miles. I travel very often and I use to have a cruise speed of over 200-220km/h (+120-135mph) and in some free long straights I can step on it to go over 150 with no problem. Iīve measured my top speed with a GPS.
I donīt know what to say to you guys but Iīm not trying to fool anyone.
With my WRX when it was modded (???whp but I think about 300 at the crank) I did 251km/h (156mph) in the gps while the speedo needle went over 260 (161). So thereīs no need of big hp numbers to reach 150mph.
Our cars (if not estetically modded) have a very good cx so in very long runs you can go real fast.
I think that with bit power numbers you can reach those speeds in shorter distances and in some cases hit the rev limiter (306km/h Sc400 auto trans)
Hereīs a video where I hit 145mph and you can see how our roads are. I didnīt go further because there where too many cars. I only try when the road is clear both ways. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LsUdy-U3_k
BTW the speedo accuracy itīs very good. Now I have other wheels and it reads lower, but if you mantain the stock diameter itīs very accurate.

A side note for all you "top speed run" guys. You BETTER be running z rated tires or better. I don't want to hear that one of you idiots blew an H rated tire at 150 and slammed into a center divide or worse another car and hurt yourself in a bad way. I'm serious not even one run. I run W rated and only because the type of tires I need for low speed traction don't come in anything higher otherwise I would be running y rated. I'll never exceed 160 for that reason. Better safe than sorry folks, if you're going to be running at those speeds pay to play.
