I had a K&N in my other gold SC4 in 2007 and it was nice to clean and drop back in without spending for a new filter every time, but that's the only advantage to a FILTER alone. You'll need a BFI or CAI if you want to see ANY responsiveness changes at all (and they aren't gonna be worth talking about).

does the apexi have that nice sound to it? and do you feel the difference in power?

Guys, plain and simple do not buy an aftermarket intake kit, they are not worth it whether you have the 2jzge or 1uzfe. The cones, injen intakes, etcetera suck in hot air and sometimes can hurt your peformance. The best thing for these cars in order to gain some kind of horsepower from an intake is to do a proper BFI (Big F***in Intake). There are numerous builds, tests, and proven gains in horsepower that result from doing a proper BFI build. Now in regards to which filter to buy that of course is up to you. However comparison tests have shown (search for it) that a K&N air filter flows better than a stock paper air filter. Yes the K&N is around $50-$60 but you never have to replace it. It just needs to be cleaned every so often, which is really simple. In order for your car to benefit even more from this BFI, a good aftermarket exhaust system will really help to open the motor up and breathe and flow better.
If anybody would like some help or direction in starting the BFI process, don't hesitate to PM me. I will be more than glad to help.

Wow such mixed opinions and reviews on the K and N. I have one along with the BFI and love it. It breaths better and actually helped at the MPG about 1 mile per gallon. Thats worth it to me.
