Yeah, I'm thinking of going with the SC400 now. Just gotta find one in good condition. 130k miles shouldn't be that much for a V8.

The 1UZ is bullet proof, so go for it.

I would get a 2000 SC400 with that budget. The 99 SC300 would be fine if you can't find a 2000 though.

Is that a hole in the passenger side tail light?? It looks odd lol, perfectly round with a couple cracks off of it? or is it just a reflection?

i actually came across this listing myself last week. Although the miles are a little high, its hard to come across a 99 for under 7 grand. he'll let it go for 6500

2000 sc400 = drool...

if its sc300 and you plan to mod the engine.. under 1997 is my opinion.. OBD1 and its cheaper.

$6k should be a good deal if you decide on it. I think people lower the value of our cars TOO MUCH... we have been getting some ugly builds going on around here because of how cheap the car can be had. When the car was never under 6-7k 4-5years ago before we always had awesome build threads... Good luck!

The newest SC400 I have found is a 1998. What makes the 2000 different from that, why is it so special?

Saw ur new ad...i like the 98 sc400. it comes vvti and very strong. I have a sc400 and i don't plan on modding my motor. i love the way it drives. def pick it up if it's clean. rust is always your biggest factor in the northern states. Us cali guys stray away from that. Mileage on sc400 can be high but still run flawless depending on maintenence. I bought my SC400 with over 200k and it runs like a dream. But then again, my car was a 1 owner vehicle who maintained it very well. =)

the only difference from a 98 sc400 and a 2000 is the 3 spoke wheel, preferated seats, and the 98 has a 12 disk nakamichi which was changed in 99 to a 6 disk. Other than that its the same, and all you would really ever need is just a intake or a b.f.i. and maybe some magnaflow mufflers and your good. The add for the 98 looks good i say go for it b/c they are hard to come by.

guys why have i never ever ever seen a 2000 sc400 for sale anywhere anytime anyplace?

It seems to me that they made hardly any of these vehicles and that they are extremely rare, is this true?

324 of them were sold in 2000. Very rare indeed.

I agree the SC400 looks right. Get a PPI and pull the trigger if it is good. You may regret waiting if you do not get one
