Stock sub enclosure
Has anyone made an enclosure for the stock sub?
I have a 4 channel 500W amp powering the stock sub. It sounds decent but the problem im having is when I get a hard hit with it turned up the sub bottoms out and pops loudly. I would like to keep with the stock sub but want to have some sort of air restriction for it. I do not want to put a box in the trunk, theres already not enough trunk space.
Just looking for Ideas
I also have a bose sub that measures about 9" that I was thinking about using. This is a console sub that comes in the newer chevys and is only about 2" total thickness. I just do not know the ohm rating on it.
Thanks

If you made an enclosure in my book, you might not be so happy. The stock sub is made to be free air at a 2ohm resistance. I would just replace it with a JL, Kicker, or something close. The problem lies then with it clearing the gas tank. Try looking at the audio section for further.
The popping is of course you overpowering the stock sub, its a wonder you havent blown it.
