I'd say it you plan on doing more body work down the road, save the lip until then.

If you are settled on TT wheels for a while, it's good to have rollers first.

lip first. they are rare and hard to come by and there is no telling when they will be discontinued. you can always find tt wheels for sale.

that said, i would wait to put the lip on until i had wheels/suspension/etc to complete the look.

Average people notice rims. Car people notice suspension and fitment.

What the SC forum says and what my friends think are opposites. When I slammed my SC, no one noticed IRL, but on CL I got lots of compliments. When I put a decent(cheap) set of rims on, my friends were amazed, but CL went "ehh".

My point is, skip the TT rims because no one IRL cares that you upgraded your 16" stock wheels to 17" stock wheels from a different car.

That's so true! It's kind of weird how that works.

I would only get the TT wheels if you can find them in chrome. They're kind of ugly in the default silver.

i really like the TT wheels but i think it depends on the color of the car if it really goes well or not.

i got na supra wheels but only because a friend had them laying around and the stock 15"s look so horrible..not that the na's look great but a 100x better then stock 15's.

Very true. My friends all thought it was a downgrade when I sold my SC430 wheels and put a set of TT's on.

I agree with Kohinoor on this one -- get the lip because it's unique.

I'm not saying TT wheels are useless. They are great functionally if you want to fit a BBK, or to mount wide tires on because you need traction. If I was doing a budget GTE Swap to Auto-X or roll race I might buy them. But for purely aesthetic purposes(like on a Daily Driver), they lack.

I fail to see where/how they "lack" on a daily driver...

(old pic^^)
I love my TT wheels, and unfortunately, may be parting with them this weekend. But I have received huge amounts of compliments on how my SC looked with the TT wheels, both with and without the center caps.

Yes a lip may be rare, but to me they are boring and something waiting to be fixed. Thus the TT wheels serve a bit of a purpose being wider and simply looking much better than the factory SC wheels. Although, the bottom line is everyone has their taste and only the user can make the decision.

Some say function over form, others form over function. IMHO, both will look funny without a drop of some sort..but an aftermarket lip on a stock SC, with stock SC wheels...the TT's get my vote. Again, just another opinion.
