Dude you sound like a mechanic or you got some mad skills. It would take me 20 min just to get the tools together and the car jacked up! lol

That’s like me telling you I can take off in a twin engine prop plane in under 5 min and you should be able to do the same. It would take you at least 10 min just to get it started lol. And it would be an interesting flight for you if you were able to get her off the ground.

It might get problematic as he is halfway through the job. then he’s stuck with his car all apart.

Times are tough. Have you checked craigslist or ebay for shade tree mechanics doing spot work? It would probably be cheap. Then you can help and learn at the same time. Hopefully you don’t get a tweaker. LOL

I did this myself (DIY) a few years ago on my 92 SC300 with Auto tranny. I had no help (just myself) and I put the car up on jack stands. It is not as hard as you may think to change out the diff, it's really quite straight forward of a job. Did NOT have to touch the oem exhaust at all. I had the old one out and the new one installed in one mornings worth of work. Should not take a good mechanic with tools/lift but a few hours max, anymore then he's BS'sing you or he's incompetent.
