I also made the same mistake by getting a 1997 300 rather than a 1998 400. i dont wanna go thru all that for a turbo or swap or anything like that since its my DD. smhhhhhhh!

I am quite impressed with the performance of the CT12a turbos because of their fast spool time. I fail to see how they are in any way 'crap.' If they are taken care of and not overboosted they can last ~200,000kms for some. They preform exactly as intended and can go a few psi beyond factory specifications safely, what's not to like?

My questions to you people who condemn the 1JZGTE for its "bad headflow" are:

1 - At which power level does the headflow become a significant impediment to performance over that of the 2JZ head?

2 - When in your build did the head flow on your 1JZ prevent you from achieving the power goals you were after?

My mistakes were....

1) JDM OEM Toyota Soarer Power folding mirrors: What a waste of $220! Mirrors are angled only for RHD cars so therefore putting 'em on a LHD cars sucks! And they will only "work properly" if installed with an aftermarket alarm.

2) JDM OEM Toyota Soarer Moonroof visor: After a while, they begin to look tacky and when you take it off, It literally leaves it's mark.

3) Tanabe NF210 Lowering springs: Hardly any drop at all! What a waste of $250.

Please forgive me if I appear to be rude but you (and a LOT of other members) don't understand how engines work. Lower displacement and worse headflow affects you at EVERY power level.
