Default the worst mod ever thread

i decided to make this after looking at some of my history in old thread. I personally have made alot of mistakes in buying stuff even when i did take time research the parts before i bought them so i figure all the OG's here should chime in to help out the noobs and y u bought them.

1 1jz the reason i pick this as my number 1 cause i was being a bitter and a follower and to behonest the motor is garbage. it been proven to have the poorest if any head flow out of all the toyota becides the 1ggte i know alot of people will aruge up and down with me on this but the proof is all over SF

2 coilovers i have had sevral sets of springs and coilovers so out of all
the tanabe NF210 were the worst to me no dop at all ( very minor )

3 ebay hid
bought sets in a year worst hid ever

ebay ccfl
they suck due to them point and aiming at the air the adj screw do nothing at all

VERY strong statement there. Do you have results from a flow bench to back up that claim?

I doubt you do. I doubt this thread would be a good one. It'll be full of opinions and not enough results, technical descriptions, quantitative data, etc.

The info is out there. "Noobs" don't need to be catered to. If they are going to be careless and not do research, then they deserve to go through crap. After all, that's the only way people learn now a days.

funny thread.

1. Let me see, oh I bought (x4) FAILken 452's that went flat immediately after installing them. Of course I was stupid and trying to run a non XL 215/35 front tire on a 9" wide wheel...not to mention it's a 3000lbs daily driven vehicle. $600 down the tube. Now I'm rolling on 16" stock wheels until I can afford to buy new tires this year.

2. I bought junction produce neck pads which feel more like a boulders behind your head.

3. Espelir springs make my car feel like a '92 Integra with cut shocks. I've completely lost my Luxury or even sport feeling. The drop looks great, but the 80 mile daily driving commute sucks.

4. Rear window visor, useless and waste of $99. It doesn't look to bad, but it's a waste of money. I could have bought Filet Mignot for a week instead.

I'll think of more things as the day goes by.

This may be off topic, but is somewhat related I suppose. Instead of constantly bashing ideas about threads like this, and saying search is useful(which in some cases it is, other times it takes HOURS to find what you need). If you are an OG or a n00b, sometimes it's just difficult to find the right keyword or define exactly what needs to be found. I know that we can't sticky every post, but at least have a better compilation of threads that are indexed well instead of 4billion links thrown into one thread.

TL;DR --> indexed search for less n00b questions, and more OG help with questions!

edit: This is all just speculative, I've yet to have my coffee for the day, so spare the flame if possible please!

1jz is not a bad mod. It does not flow the worst either, its second to the 2jz. Saw a flow chart the other day.

There is a flow chart, people saying 1jz head flows better, it sure doesnt seem like it on the chart. if you can get your hands on a soarer 1jz with full harness, go for it, its a easy swap, and makes enough power if you're not looking for a dyno queen.

I am not gonna go as fare as say one of the worst mods, because they lower the car a great deal compared to others. But I do agree with ur post on this...

same, I bought a '98 E320 a few years back. I bought it for $5k, spent $5k keeping it alive, and ended up selling it for $3k a year later lol.
