well, I don't have a cat so there goes that theory....
But I REALLY think it's a bad connector on the temp sensor gauge. just have to wait for it to come in.

stalling problem
Drft, did you ever resolve your problem...was it the connectors..??
I have an sc300 , and am stalling at low speeds, can you tell me what you found and if you resolved the problem, could use your help..thanks.
