Mine's ECU
Guys,
I recently contacted a Mine's dealer in the UK with a bunch of questions about the Mine's ECU for the SC. Here's the info I received:
It controls air / fuel ratio, ignition timing and eliminates the rev limiter (didn't even know there is one ).
It is not user programmable. Although I asked, they would give no estimate on performance increase.
I've read several old posts where people said that the Mine's VX-ROM is THE ULTIMATE ECU. But looking at what it does and what it does not, it doesn't sound very impressive, especially considering the price and comparing it to what I know about the WR piggy back ECU.
Does anyone know more about the Mine's VX-ROM? Any reason why I should consider Mine's over WR?

I'm still baffled by the total lack of aftermarket interest here in the states for the SC. You'd think that if they have the product, and a lot of people here have the car, logic dictates that they'd want to sell it here. I don't know anything about the Mine's ECU and I know that there's some questions about people's setups with the WR ECU. I'd talk to Leo at WR thoroughly about it, maybe on AIM (he's WeaponRUSA on there and he's on a lot) before you have something sent halfway around the planet. At least he can tell you what to expect. Nice thing about the WR setup is that it's not hard to put in.

There's a guy on the Aussie forums (ALSC) that had a Mines VX-Rom installed in his Soarer 4.0GT (SC400), and there was a bit more power, however it ran too rich, resulting in a drop in power from around the 5000~5500RPM mark.

You gotta be kidding ... 'a little more power' ... 'running too rich'?!?! For 2g? That sounds like a very expensive waste of money.

No probs Supercoupes...
I was thinking about buying a similar ECU from Japan, but then I got a price quote for a Mines VX-Rom for a Soarer 2.5GT... $4050!!! For that price I might as well just add a boost controller and A'PEXi S-AFC...

I'd love to get an A'PEXi Power FC for the Soarer, but my Soarer's an auto, and I've heard stories that the Power FC is only suitable for manual 1JZ's... If there's one for the auto 1JZ's then I'll be tempted!

Were can I find the Web page or info on this WR Ecu you guys are talkin about..I'm interested..is it programable ?? As I am fitting an Eaton W92 blower to me V8 in about 2 months time,soon as the manifold is done...Thanks Guys.
