Hey guys I did some re-search and found out that with the 1993 sc300/400 the screw that holds the remotes battery cover will NOT stay in. Lexus admits this as a "defect" on the car. Its annoying because my battery never stays in my key and I cannot unlock/lock my car cause the caseing around it keeps comming open! has anyone gone to the dealership before to try to get them to give you a new caseing or possibly a new screw that will actually hold the key together? has anyone else had this problem on there 1993 sc?

Yea if I still had the screw (bought the car with the key screw missing)I would just put it in and put a little bit of glue to hold it shut but then again if I ever need to change the battery out it might get a little tricky

I had the same issue with my key. I put a very small bead of silicone on the edge of the housing and closed it. The following day I used a razor blade to remove the excess from the edge and it was ready to go. Holds well but it can be removed when you need to replace the battery. No screw needed!
Just another idea..........

Devor,
I bought a spare key from a member of this forum to use it as a parts donor which I needed the rubber piece you talk about.
The screw on my key has locktite.
