thanks fatbrian,

i swear i have been wondering for years why i only see 92-93-94-95 and the odd 96 for sale.

i am actually dissapointed in the lexus forum for not making this common knowledge that 98-00 are almost non existent and if u see one for sale u jump on it like its on fire.

ive actually asked this question at least ten timen on the forum and never got a str8 answer.

these sc's are much more special than i thought

Hmm, quick question whats the purpose of this thread? Of course theres a lot of overpriced cars doesn't mean you have to make a thread about it. It just seems like you want people to bash on his price.

Everyone thinks their car is worth a lot more than what other people think its worth.

well not once did i bash him,

i did think he was wayyy overp[riced at first but after reliazing how rare the car is i can see where he gets his pricing from.

i had no idea that these late model sc's were so rare.

although i had a feeling considering i never seen any for sale in my country or city ever.

the fact here is he does have a "gem" on his hands and the value of this 1-905 is really in the eye of the beholder.

he admits he is asking alot for it but he also admits hes not really desperate to sell either.

im glad he chimed in to explian things cause i do see where he is coming from.

do i think its worth 15000$?

no not really

do i think he will get some interest from some real sc connesours? yes i do

my guess is he will get offers at around 10 000 or so which considering rarity and condition is not half bad at ll.

again im not knocking him just saying how i feel

If i had the money i would probably offer him 8-9 grand for the car considering how much i like these sc's--the rarity and the condition

thats just my opinion

i appreciate everyones input

thanks

One thing you gotta remember with classifieds....any moron can post a ridiculous price but they dont mean he is gonna sell it. I would have a brain hemorrhage if that thing sold for any more than $8,000

I hear you,

personally i dont know how easily he could get 8 grand for it ----but---this is really rare car for the sc connesour--forgive my spelling---if the right buyer comes around---which im sure over time it will---he may get a good price for the car----he says he is not desperate to sell which is a good thing----because if he was desperate his asking price should be closer to 7-8 grand for a quick sale.

anyways im very impressed with seeing such a rare car around and i am going to keep an eye on this one.

scenforcer please let us know if u do end up selling it as i would be very interested in hearing about it.

guys there is only 905 of these made i am still in shock about it

i am actually mad at the forum for not makiing this fact public

ive been here for at least a year and never heard anything of the matter

how muany times have i heard people say ----save up fror a 98-00 sc-------but yet no oine speaks of the rarity of these.

im glad i started this post actually

IMHO, I dont think this car will sell due to it's rarity, sc400s are not rare cars, I think what will sell this car is the fact that it's a clean unmolested car, some people rather pay a little more for a nicely maintained stock car, with all the fake bodykits and the half *** engine mod and cheap paint job, his clean sc is somewhat of a gem.

That being said, 13000 without the carpc and 15000 with it is a bit to ask, but ill be so happy if he sells it for that because he knows at least the car will be driven by someone who appreciates the car and can actually afford to maintain it properly and not ghetto spray paint everything black on the interior.

agreed---i am always one for clean stock cars---but where i beg to differ with u is the fact u say sc400's are not rare cars--they may not be but this one is----weve googled the facts and it "is" a very rare car.

anyways i agree his asking price is high but i appreciate the rarity and quality of a clean stock car just as much as the next guy-----my guess is like i said ------8-9 grand----but u never know with a car so rare

fact is its a gem---1 out of 905 made--i still am amazed----why did they make so few of these vvt's?

I undersand it's rare for the year, but it's not a rare car, a sc400 I'd a sc400, there is nothing really specific for it's year other than the fact that you can tell people that google said they only made 905. I doubt anyone looking for a sc400 tells themselves that he wants to find a rare stock sc400 and he's willing to pay 15000 for it. However, I can see someone looking for a well maintained car. Just my 2cent.

Don't forget that this year comes with the vvt-i 1uzfe that makes more stock horsepower than a mkIV Supra. Not saying that will make it worth the asking price, but it can make it much more desirable than an SC from previous years.

But the vvt1 400s are special, they are the most powerful stock sc's made at 290 hp. If someone wants a stock hot rod sc this is where they have to look.
