A HG is not that hard to do... WAY THE HELL EASIER THAN A SWAP... seriously.

I have already found and priced out what Im gonna use as my NA-T kit and Im not even at 2k. And Im not cheaping out on the turbo. Shop the hell around and do your homework.

Maybe I will find a good writeup on the head gasket and see what will be easier for me.

No it's not easier than swap... anybody can do a swap not everyone can replace a HG the right way

good luck with na-t under $2k.

Is this why there are all these swaps on here that don't run right, people who can't change a head gasket think they can swap an engine and rewire the harness ?

From what I've noticed, as the price of these cars continue to go down, so does the level workmanship when doing jobs such as this. Some owners continue to follow the ultra cheap route, and skimp on critical parts, and then wonder why their ish runs the way it does, or prematurely dies

HG replacing is usually a way more tedious job back breaking and small parts all over, ripping an engine out and replacing it with something that bolts-in right is easier then rebuilding and less time. As for the harness part, sending it out to someone who does it for a living would be my way.

hehe ^^^ true. Not saying which one is better. But I LOVE how so many people on here keep asking for advise then go on shrugging off all the advise they get from guys who know whats up. Tards.

To me its just a simple computation, how much power do you want to make, how much money do you have ? If you're fine at 350, swap it and have a ball. If you want much over 400 and are on a budget a swap might not be for you, you will be right at or beyond the capabilities of the stock gte and something is bound to break and you won't have the money to fix it. Na-t is probably better for you, you'll get a better turbo and it will most likely be new, its easier plumbing, and as your budget allows you can get better components and crank the boost up. Twins aren't the be all and end all of sc performance, they are actually kind of limiting as to the power they can make compared to how much the engine can handle.

personally.. na-t. im having trouble keeping traction even at a 40 roll! unless ur racing for pinks or high stakes theres no reason to need anymore than 400hp. im NA-T on 12psi 70 turbo, 450cc injectors and a SAFC etc.etc. and have never dyno'd (obviously tuned) but in comparison to similar setups i think im sitting in the 400+hp range. (please correct me if im wrong, my dyno money is going to gas lmao) i spent 4500 total on the car AND the complete setup, been running smooth for over a year with only need for oil changes every 3k, annual fluid flush, and a *****load of tires lol
