Na-t or GTE swap ?
So I'm in a dilemma money wise a bit I have a 93 5 speed SC and ever since I brought it I wanted to do a gte swap but money is tight so I'm thinking a Na-t built is better for my $$$ but I wanna know is it worth it ?? Please help

to me, unless ur going to run full stand alone and get it tuned NA-t, i would go motor swap the fact of factory turbo, rather then adapting... really depends on ur power goals, what u want to do with the car etc etc.

drive what you got, and try to save , and get a gte swap, thats me, i guest it will be na-t swap, use what you got, add turbo sys and necessary parts with a decent clutch, money add up any how, glw decision brother.

If you want over 400hp na-t will always be cheaper than a swap if you pay for everything either way. Even with a swap you will have to upgrade the swapped engine to get to 400+. You'll be pushing the limits of the stock turbos and the stock fuel system, plus you will have spent a not insignificant amount on the swap in the first place. Just take the motor in the car and build it for 450, it can more than handle it.

First you said money is low and but you want 500 wheel hp, not gonna happen my friend.
You need a better tranny and clutch to begin with and the list goes on and on.
Keep your car stock and enjoy it if you don't have the fund to do it right.

You can try to tell people till your blue in the face bro. But right now there are a lot of new guys picken up SCs and thinken they are going to boost that bad boy cheap. Always the same crap. Always maken a new thread about how "I got no money but I wana go turbo. I dont want crazy power, just around 500 WHP is all. Gee what are my options?"

Ok my guess is you just want some boost psyco bc who doesn't love the feeling of boost.. am i right?
Going NA-T is gonna cost just about as much as a stock gte... (for ppl who doubt i picked up my 2jzgte with tranny clutch pedals new clutch oil catch can and a bunch of parts. oh and has good compression for 2800) you just gotta look for deals bc this wasn't even a guy i knew...
however back to topic... NA-T
You need a full turbo kit (please don't go ebay stuff on your car its cheap and your just gonna end up buying 2 and at that point you coulda had the good quality one)
2500-3000. -----> with intercooler and all.
new clutch
$400
ecu or standalone
$250 (roughly)
a tune for the NA-T
$400
and now your almost at 4000 already and could have a gte that is known for being good reliable and strong...
Note my quote as its good to think about.....
(we Never have the money to do it right or build it right, however always find the money to fix it?) DO IT RIGHT the first time
Just my 2 cents Good luck man

most expensive you'll spend is the R154, just do it
do the NA-T, cheap, easier, leave the stock CR, youll be able to achieve nice power with low boost with better throttle response as compared to lowering the CR.
Unless of course you want to go ***** out and make super duper high horsepower, then get the GTE
