Cost of an SC new?

That poster is from BC - therefore its a Canadian car (All options, SC400 only). Due to our exchange rates at the time, they were quite expensive here. I have a Canadian used car guidebook and its lists the new MSRP in 1996 as $82000 CAD.

I don't have the original sticker on my 93 SC300, but I did find the paperwork from when the second owner bought it in 1996 for $31,500 used. It came with gold package a nd had a car phone too according to the records. The car phone was taken out by the dealership though.
I didn't get the Nakamichi stereo, Traction Control, or heated seats though. It does show the gold package was an extra $1,000.

This is true. My 92 SC4 was stickered at $42K and the sales receipt shows they paid $38,500. My 95 has no paperwork so no clue on selling price.

My 98 SC3 was $46,950....no options except the 6 disc changer and "premium" radio which is pioneer and the spoiler.
That was very expensive for even 98.
BMW M3 was cheaper if you wanted performance while Cadillac Eldorado/Lincoln Mark 8 were about the same for a V8.
These cars were really not marketed to people under 40-50 years old because they would be unable to afford...duh. The typical buyer went to the dealer for everything and did not modify them at all. After a few years it was time to trade in. But I think the drug dealers also liked these cars new.

I've got the window sticker for my 99 SC400. Base MSRP was $55,305. With the Nak system, sunroof (yeah, they were an option - ever seen an SC without one?), "winter package" (traction control, heated seats), chrome wheels and destination charge, total MSRP was $61,617.
And the carfax showed no lien on the first title, which means the person who bought it new paid cash...
