I do agree with nebiker here though-------alot of cars made today are sub par in alot of ways-----sure they can handle a crash perhaps --but doesnt make them reliable cars to own.

I just figured that cars keep getting better and better. Sure, you get a few crappy ones here and there like my friend's '02 Escape that requires you to manually turn the lights on, but I haven't heard of any Yugo type cars that are made out of complete crap.

What are some examples of sub-par components in some newer cars?

well i dont really have any particular components to point out to you but i seem to notice alot of cars that used to be well made or should be well made---mercedes---bmw---jaguar are known to be lemons in alot of ways an are leaving a wake of unsatisfied angry customers in their path.

Mercedes used to be a great, well made car------not anymore---same with bmw from what ive heard and jaguar is one of the worst.

I dont want to get into the domestic cars as I dont know much about them but they just seem to be very poorly made---maybe i just dont like them but its just how it seems---i mean i would rather take a lexus from the early or mid nineties over a brand new pontiac or ford---just my opinion is all.

Im sorry but im not sure what a 'yugo' is.

the sc430 along any lexus for that matter should be a safe bet considering thier long reputation of reliable luxurious makes, my cousin had a 06 competition package 6spd M3 and it was hands down sick, a head turner for sure but, after his warranty ended and he needed to replace the clutch i noticed his M for sale on craigslist lol, thier not cheap to maintain and i'm sure most cars w/o warranty are, honestly dont see why you just cant keep your current sc, it looks good and you could always redesign it if your not happy with the way it sits, but nonetheless wouln't go with the M3 or any older BMW with warranty ending soon
