I will be purchasing a 95' SC300 Automatic from a Co-Worker in the next month or so. The car has over 120K Miles on it, once I get the car I would eventually like to swap in the Supra's twin turbo engine and six speed tranny. However I would like to take this build-up a step at a time.
My questtion is, have you ever seen or heard of anyone mating the Supra's six speed tranny to the 2jzge motor, and if so, were there any problems with the car's computer?
Thanks.

the Getrag 6sp's gearing is made for the 2JZ-GTE -- the gearing is for a turbo engine that makes (at least
) 320 HP. I've been told that putting a 6sp onto a N/A 2JZ is not fun to drive. It's like driving around the JZA80 TT w/ a blown HG. Not fun, not fun.
Anyone care to correct me... or am I right for once?

Yes, you are right, the car is actually slower with the 6spd and a Supra 6spd rear-end. I have not seen anyone use it with the SC300 rear-end, which should actually make it faster. The only problem is you will need a custom driveshaft and it only work with either the SC Rear -end or the Supra 6spd rear, but not both. The Supra auto rear end is the same as the SC.

clint ....i beg to differ about the auto supra tt rear end and the sc300 rear end being the same......the 5spd sc300 rear end is an open diff with 4:11 gears while the auto supra is a torsen limited slip with 3:76 gears......and im not posotive on the auto sc300 rear but im pretty sure its not the same as a supra auto rear..and definitly has no limited slip...
as for the 6speed i would wait and do the entire swap at once.....and your auto computer wont work with a manual car....youll need a different ECU

Thanks Guys, I really wouldn't care about the car being slower with the supra rear end and tranny... like they say "later will be greater". Thanks though.
Jeff, about that computer problem do you know of any temporary patches around this... anything to fool the stock computer?

4.08's is actually what the 5spd SC3 has, and Supra auto is 3.72, while SC3 and SC4 auto are 3.92. ScewFace, i'm all for the later will be greater concept too, and with a Supra 6spd 3.13 rear, it'll be an absolute highway killa...

Jon, I think the SC3 and SC4 auto's have different rear end ratios. I KNOW the SC3's are 4.27s.
As far as Brooklyn chicks, I don't discriminate any race, color, or nationality. I am an Equal Opportunity Pimp. (God, did I just actually type that?)
