soarer r154 transmission input shaft cracked!?

Default soarer r154 transmission input shaft cracked!?

so, i purchased a r154 from a member off here and during shipping the input shaft cracked... will this be okay? its cast so i cant weld it






im not sure what to do in this situation.. please help!



edit: i just posted a thread on sf asking curt if he can get a new shaft..

Oh geeze that don't look too good man. I'm pretty sure you need a new shaft because that sits in the pilot bearing perfect to align the trans.

But someone else can chime in

yeah. thats what i figured.. after a long day of pulling my 1jz out of my wrecked shell. i finally had a chance to unbox the trans and found this :/

im currently tryin to source this shaft, itd be amazing if i could get it out of a mk3 r154

it looks as if the box landed on its side, the shaft however has very little play. i found a mk3 trans for 200 bucks so im going to have to buy it and buy the shaft. im willing to pay 200 for it, it beats the 550 for a new one.. -.-

damm that sucks dude... you can get a new input shaft here http://www.toyotapartseast.com/compo...-05-11112.html if you havent bought that mk3 tranny already. This should be the perfect time to crack open your tranny and take a look at it and maybe upgrade the bearing retainer and the thrust washer. I just got done putting mine together.

Oh wow, ill just buy that. Is it the w58 trans or r154 though.. I guess ta a r154 bc its a 7mgte

no worries. its actually really easy to get the shaft out, 8 bolts and 2 snap rings later, my trans is waiting for the new shaft to come in by this thursday

yea.. im concerned about the internals. but like i said theres little shaft play, i can still turn the shaft fairly easiler, it goes into all goes easily so idk. i could be wrong and some gears are toast.
