I know this is a question for the suspension forum, but there is much more traffic here.
Redoing my suspension. Want to restore that comfortable luxury ride, so that means complete strut replacement. Current ones are shot. Have no desire to race.
I am looking at some Tein SS coil-overs. Some of the reviews I have read have said they are extremely stiff. I don't want a stiff ride.
SO are coil-overs a bad thing for me. Should I just look at getting some stock springs and replace the struts.
What do you guys think.

I recommend these http://www.meganracing.com/product_d...id=34&catid=30
I have them and maxed out the stiffness. Ride still feels stock and there is 0 body roll now.

Right on I appreciate the feedback. This sucks because there is no real good feedback on any of them. One guy likes this kind,. the next says they are to stiff. I read some reviews on the Tein SS saying they were stiff, I have now read a bunch of reviews where people were complaining they are to soft (which sounds like what I want) I have a private party who is selling a set of Tein SS. I just don't want to make a mistake and end up with a rough riding pos

Tein Comfort Sports (CS) are made to be comfortable. So thats immediately a better choice than the SS. Two problems that most people come across with these is that they dont low as low as some would like (I personally like the way they look at max drop), and that they are expensive (last I checked about $1800 for a new set?). But every once in a while you can find a used set for like $800. I personally dont have them, but havent heard a single bad review about them when it comes to comfort. In fact, most people say the ride is better than stock. This is definately the coils I'm gonna get once I'm able to afford them.
If thats too pricey for you, BC Racing has similar coils for about $1000. I believe theyre called BC-BR Type coils. Apparently they 'mimic' they ride of the CS.

You have to realize that most of the guys who are on these suspensions have SCs that are older than Earth. The suspension is worn as hell and anything is considered an upgrade. I've ridden in SC with Megans and another SC with fully restored suspension with only OEM parts and it's no comparison. The OEM rides a hell lot smoother so when people say these coils drive like stock, they meant to say "drive like busted stock suspension"
