Lightbulb Head Lights (General)

Okay, just a random question what set of headlights do you guys prefer on a sc300 / sc400. I'm in the market on getting new headlights, money is not an object, just want to know in general which would you get and why? BTW i have a 92 5 speed white sc300, I do not think i would add black housings to it just kills the look in my opinion? Anyone have any other say's?

Leave it chrome and...
Lowbeams: Supermade lenses, Audi Xenon projector swap.
Highbeams: Ebay clear lense swap, mount a Xenon projector in the highbeam bucket.
LED lighting all around, possibly a custom tiny city light projector.
Or delete the high beams and use Infiniti FX Bi-Xenon projectors in the lowbeam hole.

I think money might become a factor after you go past the $1k price point?
If you want to be a vip baller then swarovski the inside the headlights instead of chrome.

If you have seen most of the SC's out there, 95% of them have stock headlights. If money is not an issue by some new ones. They really change the outlook of the car.

An if you plan to get HID's. Make sure you get anything lower than 5000k

Why do you say anything lower than 5000k? I bought my car with HIDs already on it and was thinking of switching to 8000k bulbs cuz I like the blue look. Do they burn too hot or something?

5000K is OEM color for a reason. Anything over 6000K is illegal, and the higher color temperature you go, the less you can actually see.

Thanks QwkSC, I have no idea what is on my car like I said the PO did the conversion. I see you have the 6000k, how do you like it?

Slightly more blue, very nice color, makes it stand out from other OEM HID cars out there but bit annoyingly (and illegally) purple. Pic:

8000k?? I highly advise you NOT to go that route and so would alot of others but if you truely like the Full Bluish look than do you. Keep in mind, you lose alot of light output as well as blind oncoming drivers because of the glare effect it creates. You also draw a lot of unnecessary attention from cops.

I personally put 4500k from ddm tuning and their whitish. Couldnt be more happier.

Supermade clear lenses, S2000 projector, and CCFL/LED for bling. Sharpest cut off with wide beam pattern.

I just put 6000k and I think it appears whiter than 5000k. It'll have a teal hue at first but onced it's "warmed up" it turns white. I think 5000k still has a hint of yellow in it.

I also recommend 6000k's as well. I like the 8000k's, but you may get hassled by police and you do lose a little bit more light output. Anything over 8000k's will get you pulled over for sure. 6000k's have a light blue color to them and they probably offer the best balance between color and light output.

I got my HID kit from HIDextra.com, who is a vendor here on the forums if you're looking for a good kit.
