My driver side coil failed completely on me but the car would at least start---although it shook violently and wouldnt rev very high it still started up on 4 out of 8 cylinders.

I think it is safe to rule them out, but check anyways to be sure.
I just change my spark plugs, wires, and coils. 4 of my spark plugs was bad real bad and the other 4 look like they where brand new my car kills when i give it gas at 1700rpm could that be a bad coil? Im going to finish hooking it up tomorrow.
