are my 17's to small or do i just need to drop down

i honestly love the rims, they look great on stock body, i had set of meaty 17s on my stock '92 sc and loved them, nothing fancy just plain tastefull alloys

on a face non lip style wheel 17s looks fine, on something with a lip 18 or 19s, or bigger

honestly its like going to a stiffer lower suspension setup you just get use to it and learn to drive more carefully

already drive careful i hate pot holes gotta swerve around em. speed bumps i take them side ways and still scrap my car's stock. time to go wash the car

17 in rims were turning heads back in 2001 but now it's either 19in or up

But buy what u can afford and enjoy

im enjoying i just happened to notice they looked small the night i started the thread it was raining and just admiring the sc then it hit me their kinda small looking. so for everbody else that feels that way. we have a thread

LOW AND SLOW

It's an adjustment, you really do have to learn how to drive, even just slammed on 18's is a totally different kind of driving.

YYUP! i agree with the chrome thing..Although I have some chromes on my car ( gonna change that soon though!) give it a little drop you will be all good !

Who cares "whats turning heads". 19's and 20's on these cars =

If you care at all about suspension travel, performance, practicality, keep the ride height moderate and the wheels in the 17" or 18". Smaller, lighter wheels = less rotating mass = better acceleration / fuel economy.


If you want to butcher up your wheel wells, have zero suspension travel, stretched tires, and care more about what people think of your car rather than how it performs, keep dumping your cars on 20s.

Obviously you haven't heard of coilovers or over all wheel/tire diameter!
You go ahad and enjoy your old Caddilac suspension that out performs cars on 19"-20"

BTW, I'm willing to bet my 19" wheels weights less than those 17"-18" wheels you speak of!

the weight of the rim depends on the material it's made from. seems mine weigh in @20Lb's each not sure of the weight of the maxxis maz4s victra it can't be that bad. my sc avg's around 17.4 MPG driving around town on mid grade

If ya'll really cared about the weight of the car; you wouldn't have bought an SC. ya'll probably should have bought an S14 if you like the shape of the SC. anything under 20s look really small on the SC due to its size

you dont have to butcher your wheel wells or fenders to ride on 20's

in fact you can still lower your car about 1.5 inches and still have no issues

I like them. Everyone needs a little rubber between them and the road.

I say drop it down (but not too much) and keep them.
