my 94' sc400 for 88' mk3!!!?? hmm...
well i know many of you have owned different cars in your time.
has anyone had first hand experience with the MK3? main reason i am looking to trade is i want something more fun and driving my SC400 makes me feel kinda bored... i dont think i need the DD luxury feel just yet BUT i do enjoy it and trading my car will be tough no matter what car.
With that said. MK3's, I know ZERO about them..... thinking about trading for the turbo model with a 'rebuilt' motor 10k miles ago (rings, hks headgasket, arp studs, oil pump, water pump, plugs/wires).... i dont really like the car look a whole lot but it grows on me everytime i look at one thats all done up....

eh...
the 7m motor has the potential for lots of problems, which is why the 1/2jz is a common swap for them.
it also has the potential for some fun, depending on how it was rebuilt.
....which brings up a concern I always have about rebuilt 7m's. they require some experience when matching up parts. my brother is slowly realizing this as he builds his.
and check out supra forums or supra mania. lots of good info regarding longevity, upgrades, gripes and praises.
I wouldn't trade my sc for one, but I have a brother with one, so i'll just steal it when I wanna drive one

Looks wise to me would be a pretty big downgrade stock for stock, and the SC still looks the best modded, and the interior.. 7M motor isnt all that either you'll be swapping a 1/2J before you know it. Why not swap it into a more modern and overall better car IMO. Come on man its CL

A good friend of mine had one. Great fun and pretty fast when it was running. Went through multiple head gaskets (hks gasket finally cured that), had a park position sensor disable the car once. Was in for service for various things every few months. I wouldn't trade my SC4 for one. Too risky. Need examples? This is 7 out of the first 10 I just looked at on CL.

I got to admit those Turbo MK3s do look appealing to me even more so one that is in great condition.
Glad your keeping the SC tho, think you made the right choice

hahaha yeah if someone was trading me the car above, no questions asked i would.
but since it just a stock turbo mk3 i decided not to. he wouldnt throw money on top AND i found out it was auto which in my mind defeats the whole purpose of the car (but he had a doner car with a mk3 w58)
1988 mk3's are cheap
