Default 1995 Sc400 - advise

Looking at the above with 138k on the clock. One thing I noticed was when I took it out of Overdrive I heard a clunking sound from right rear. Did it several times then there was no noise. Been sitting on dealer lot for 4 months. Offered 6000 and owner said OK. But have not completed the deal

New timing belt at 107 or so. Anything else I should pay particular attention to?

thanks in advance.

6 k is much too high IMO

your offer should be closer to $4000.00 give or take a bit.

That clunking sound ? I dont know----best bet is let a mechanic do a pre purchase inspection b4 u buy it.

spend the 50-100 bucks now to know exactly what the car needs.

Pay 6 grand now ---one or two repairs later you could be upwards of 7-8 grand----not worth it for a car of this mileage and year.

97 SCfinanced mine for about 6800. Cash price was 5,000. Mint interior and manual. Less than 100,000 miles. this was a year and half ago. Almost done with payments. If you plan on turbo later on the road you can buy really good built cars for a couple thousand more.

Have you looked around much?

Just bought my '97 DWP 400 with heated seats, traction control, and Nakamichi with 146k, well maintained, pretty much mint for $4800, no wierd clunks or vibrations....take everyone's advice on here and be patient, the right one will pop up.
