Default car died in the middle of the road

i was going about 40 mph when my engine just shut off in the middle of the road.
i tried to start the car again but the engine starts for 1 sec and dies again.
anybody know wuts causing dis problem?
i'm thinking the alternator is dead.

worst things was when my car was on the side of the road
****ing cops came and gave me a ticket for not having my licence
dey didn't even offer to help me

Fuel pump ECU will do that when it is failing, go to my site for more info on testing the ECU, it's in electrical \ Fuel pump ECU.

I agree w/ london bill. I had the same thing happen to me in my SC and it was the fuel pump ECU (regulates the amount of gas). Hope everything gets fixed.

The ECU is around £200GBP, probably much cheaper in the US, I got a s/hand one (£75GBP) as I could not wait for 2 week delivery from Japan.

i just went to my car to pick up sumthin. i had it towed to the dealership
the car started without a problem this time
could this still be the ecu???

Yep, that is just what the ECU does, they appear to work fine once they have cooled down a bit, stick in the diag jumper to see if this cures the starting fault then you will know for sure.
