Just in case somebody's interested, I thought I share my opinion of 2 different wood kits that are available for the SC. Haven't seen any side by side comparisons on here ...
First, I got the 'factory match' kit from Exoticwooddash.com. Very fast delivery but ... wtf ... as soon as I opened the box it became VERY obvious that it's not even close to how the factory wood looks. WAAAAAAY to glossy (there's about 2mm of glossy finish on it) which makes it look like a cheap fake, although there even might be some real wood in there. Also, the structure of the wood doesn't match and the color is way too dark.
I'd never ever put this on my car. Just out of curiosity, I checked how the pieces would fit. Again, next surprise. Every hole is different in size, even though the buttons that should fit in there are not. They're not even at the right place, so there's no way in hell that sh.. would fit without modifications. Overall, the pieces look like they were cut by a 3year old with a fretsaw. What a joke! I am really surprised that they dare to sell this stuff like this.
I also ordered another 'factory match' kit from Alkaplus. My opinion? See above! Same crappy fit and cheap looking glossy finish. Only difference is that the color is a slightly better match for the OEM wood. Still, nothing I'd even consider to put on my car.
Conclusion: In my opinion, save your money. If all the kits are as bad as the ones I got, I can't imagine that anyone is going to be happy with them.

I check into a replacement for my center counsel without set heat switches (live in Florida) and they wanted $360. So, I just disconnected the fuses but the point is a factory replacement might be really expensive. Why not just remove it all and refinish it?

Supercoupes,
You're having problems with the gloss finish?
I got this tip from a fellow ALSC member here in Australia. He said that Cut & Polish should work. So I tried it... I applied Cut/Polish to the wood trim, let it sit in for a bit, buffed it and then waited again for glossing with an interior cleaner. It came up quite glossy actually... I was quite surprised because it used to be a dull satin finish.

I can almost guarantee you wont find anything close to the color of our wood interiors...the wood is definately a duller brown and ALL those kits are glossy like that...they are a wood print if you will, doubt there is any real wood in it.
