Default possable transmission problem

ok, so the last few days i have noticed a few things that i dont know what could be. the first thing is if i am driving and take my foot off the gas and then put it back on there is a little clunk sounds. it sounds like it is coming from the transmission but th level is good, fluid is a little burnt(just bought car at 135k and i dont know if it has been done so im scared to change it).
the second thing is whenever im driving and take my foot off the gas it seams to slow a little rather then just coasting freely. transmission doesnt slip shifts great and has tons of power.

any info would be greatly apreciated it is a 94 sc400 135k auto trany.
thanks

i have the EXACT same problem.

my fluid also smells a tad burnt.

this issue started one day after driving my car a bit hard(higher rpm's than usual) My tranny heated up i think and than this started happening.

Im going to change my fluid and let you know if it works.

My problem is just like yours exactly-----minor clunking sounds when u accelerate and decelerate.

Transmission could be slipping.

Clunking can be caused by a bad drive shaft damper too.
I guess a bad center support could do it also.
(Just trying not to think tranny)

i got under it and found out that one of the tranny lines has a bad bend in the rubber part of the tubbing. re-adjusted it and problems are pretty much gone. tranny mount might need to be done still..

yes i started a thread on this problem a while ago and there are a few people that think it could be the driveshaft as well.

These Lexus/Toyota auto trannies are some of the best ones EVER made. That said, make sure you follow proper maintenance/fluid changes and do not forget to change out your differential fluid as well!!!......and your power steering fluid to!!

im also noticing---and it might be in my head but i doubt it---that im having less power through the tranny----like when i put the pedal all the way down---it used to drop gears and kick me back----it still does it but less kick

I think who ever i bout the car from took the radiator out to do a timing belt change and whenever they put the tranny cooler lines back in they didnt angle it to flow correctly.(rubber lines are old and not very stout).

so my next question would be....
if you guys where in my shoes would you replace the old tranny fluid(not knowing if it has ever been done) or just let it be?

might wanna check your mount, bad mounts wont let you feel that kick. unbelieveable it can rob tons of your tourqe.

yeah a visual inspection somtime will work. look for cracks or pitting in the rubber. if everything looks good try to pinch the rubber in the mount if it is not firm then chances are it needs to be replaced.
its amazing how much vibration a bad or semi bad mount can cuase.
