Default My 2 cents

Well, lets see. If you are in to and have the ability to mod one of these cars then I would go for the sc300 with a stick. With this combo you can easily add a turbo pretty cheap and get some nice gains. There are a couple of different kits available for the sc300 last time I checked. If you just want to drive, then the sc400 is a nice choice. There is not very much available for the sc400 at this time, performance wise that is. You will see a lot of smoke about turbos for the sc400 but actually having a working and proven kit still hides in the shadows. It all comes down to what you are going to do with the car. Cruise in style or Kick A$$ and take names. If I had it to do all over again I would not have gotten the sc400 and would have went with the sc300 stick and added a healthy dose of Turbo. What every you do you are on the right track... Ask a lot of questions....You will find a Treasure Chest of info in this place about these cars.

Good Luck.

They are both two of the most reliable cars on the road, and the styling is timeless. A lot of people still jock the SCx00 bodystyle. I get compliments about it all the time, girls especially. Even if there is no turbo kit for the SC400 right now, someday there eventually will be. It is inevitable because there are people willing to buy them and some willing enough to fabricate them themselves. Either way, not everyone here can throw down cash for a $7000 turbo kit, or the $2000 in install labor. So what's the rush? Plenty of us have many other things to modify on the SC400 before worrying about insane power and speed. Whichever car you want to buy SC300 or SC400, make sure you find a clean, well-maintained car so save you some hassles with foggy headlights, abused paint finish, chips door dings, cracked leather, etc. That extra patience will pay off .
