Nice, Easy Addition to BFI
Was bored today so I decided to take a look at my BFI and see if I could improve it a little bit more. I noticed the baffles and extra air boxes on the hoses after the TB and before the MAF. I took the hoses off to inspect and see what was up, Figured I didnt need them...almost all the aftermarket intakes are without them too, so I knew Id be safe. One was simple to cut off and the other just popped right out. I then plugged the holes with some marine plugs cost like 2 bucks each. Simple and easy.
The intake now sounds even more throaty and a little improvement on throttle response.

Sorry Its too dark to take pictures now..so here is a few pics from a stock intake
Here is the after product before I found the rubber marine plugs....you basically can use anything that will fit snug...this was a vitamin bottle cap and a K-cup filled with epoxy.
The marine plugs are much better thou.

This is a cool idea, I wonder how it sounds and if you get a better throttle response or gas milage since air is more free flowing thru the intake and to the throttle
But don’t you think its risky using the exposy while all that heat under the hood is being generated what happens if the expsy slips or cracks becuase of the heat? and goes straight to your throttle body? That wouldnt be so great
