I wouldn't say things went wrong. Just minor setbacks

When it comes to it I don't think we possess the means necessary to dye this carpet just due to its composition and such to get a true black. I don't know. Its black enough for me and it looks nice. Beats trying to buy a black carpet which I don't even know if you can get. Or going to an upholstery shop and having new carpet put in. I just took it for a spin. Nice to be rolling again.

I spent $160 on all of the painting materials. There are pros and cons to doing it yourself. Obviously a lot cheaper. I wouldn't even consider paiying someone to do that. But... It was not my daily driver. So for it to sit there undriven for weeks even months was not a big deal. It took me 2 weeks to do but could have easily taken longer. These cars are pushing 20 years old so almost place a guarantee in breaking some tabs. My center vent assembly fell apart. So that was another $50. But even with replacing a few things here and there I did not even come close to $750. A pro with having a shop do it is time. They can probably knock it ouot in a couple days. Also they would probably take responsibility for anything thy broke.

If I were yo I would do it myself. Also so you know how to take things apart in the future. Let me know if I can offer any help.

I had the same problem with the glove box and just removed the stereo/climate control unit and reached deep in there to pull the wire manually and tucked it back in place to that yellow thing that holds it in place.

how about the headliner? are you gonna do anything about it?
the shop also quoted me 250 for spraying my interior without taking away the dashes... but I'm not sure on that
I kind of resist the idea of painting them myself because i don't have a garage...

I think that's a fair price. It'd be nice if they properly took off the dash to spray it though.

I actually ordered foam backed suede from a website last night. So I will redo the covering myself.

I am just thinking that for the spraying to be done properly everything needs to be removed. All of the switches and components removed and separated. 250 sounds like a good price, but I don't think you are going to get much for that price.

Of course I would like real leather, but I think the Leatherseats kits are a combination of the 2 and that's fine.
