How can I tell what year my climate control is?

Yea previous owner had all sorts of interior stuff hacked in this car so I am trying to unhack his mess

My 97 Climate and Nak has Green illumination, as well as all of the buttons / switchgear in the car, I doubt it was changed.

I think the unit itself might be bad. I put an a/c unit from a newer sc and never had any problems.
