I put 93 in my 92 SC400. I wouldn't consider anything else...

I only run 91+. very, very rarely I get 89 and even then, I don't fill it up with 89. Hope this helps!

Not sure of the previous history but i've ran 93 since the day I picked mine up over 2 years ago. I also try and stick with Shell every time but will go to Chevron or Mobil if I have to.

I run a 93+ and never looked back, my engine runs better quieter and I get a better fuel economy. This is not my dd though and I only put 4-5ka year on it

I used 91 for the 92 sc400... i am just afraid the old knock sensor + OBD1 system is not as sensitive and durable as current one. a knock sensor cost at least $150.....toyota recommend premium fuel for a reason. unlike newer OBDII toyota...they just say for maximum performance premium fuel is recommended but not required.

89 octane. The compression isn't high enough to justify 91 with modern fuels. I've observed no significant difference in performance or efficiency

if anyone is so worried about the fuel they are putting into their car go out and buy a piggyback and have a map for every type of fuel.

in aussie 91, e10-94, 96, 98, 100, e85-105.

so 6 different maps
