You will not get the lighting as even as in the lextech. There will be hot spots. And OLT is no longer part of Lextech iirc

No doubt! My tach finally stopped flickering and died completely, so I cant see it any more. Now I have to listen for the rev limiter and then shift

Is that (OLT being gone) a good thing or bad thing?

that DIY stuff isn't easy and half those pics didn't work. i'd rather pay someone to do such work that requires a steady hand and is good at soldering.

I think what the OP is concern about is his needle. Not the lighting of the gauge cluster that you guys are talking about replacing with the led bulbs

I didn't know he wasn't with Lextech anymore? I was hoping to send my cluster this summer.

Yea.. Super Easy.. with Plug and Play LEDS, but it will never look like this....

My Lextech Clsuter....

Keep trying all you guys want with Plug n Play. Unless you do your own soldering and led work.. it wont be close to Lextech.. and thats the reason I pay what I paid to them. I dont skimp on my car its my pursuit of perfection..

If you are on a budget I have no hate on people using the $10 method. I just think it ricers out your car when it doesnt look fully even like that. I would rather just replace the stock OEM ones.

LexTech just finished doing my cluster a couple of months ago. (New Needles and back lighting) They honored a Lexus Forum Special I had paid for two years ago and I had never sent my cluster in. Their work is excellent and I certainly have no complaints.

The thing I dont like is the hotspot on the needle where the single LED is at.

Personal perference my friend. I prefer the stock look as well. However I wanted to give my car a whole updated look. 2IS have this color scheme now along with many of the other Lexus Models.

My cluster and needles were repaired by Lextech 5 years ago, and both tach and speedo needles died recently. After a few e-mails, I sent in my old needles, and they were fixed, without charge!

I have no issues with Lextech and will recommend their services to fellow club lexus members.

Done

Of course that's just the backlighting, needles are another story, but that backlighting looks better than any of the lextech setups I've seen.
