Default 94 SC400 starting problems!!!

Hey guys,

I have a 94 SC400, it just started acting up.
I love this car and other than the timing belt-waterpump nessary changes this car has been fabulous!
I have driven this car for almost 100,000 miles in 3 years,it has 220,00 on the odo.
I tried to start the car and got dead battery signs, slow crank to just starter clicking. Shut off the car , came back after 5 min. all lights good slow start but fired right up. Drove the car 40 miles parked, 2 hours later same sequence, drove 20 miles no problems . 10 minutes later same thing. The relay might be the problem but i thought they just "go"

The battery is new, checked the fuses and all grounds!
HELP

Thanks
B

Could be a bad batt cable as these are kind of known for this issue.

Maybe a short somewhere in your wiring.

I checked them as far as i could. Do they hit a certain spot and short out? I'm thinking a manifold somewhere?

They tend to go bad internally so to the naked eye they look good but the corrosion is on the inside.

Ok, thanks.
Really didn't want to pull that starter!
I'll swap them out, they are kinda crappy looking.
A cheap place to start.

The cable is rather pricey and the fp ecu is also common as above mentioned and a free fix if that is the problem.

Ok so is that a bypass of the fp ecu?
What is that going to do to the car?
I have done some research can't find much.
I didn't mention it keeps popping the EGR code "and my traction control".I cleaned the egr and cleared codes at 50 mph..right back.
I checked Mitchell's and they don't list that EGR for any cars. it's not 4 wire, both solenoids are clean and work but have 2 wires.
My bad for not mentioning it earlier.
Thanks for the info!!

Yup just hook the 2 thicker gauge wires together which will bypass the ecu and will eliminate the problem if that's it basically all it does is run the fp at the higher of the 2 voltage settings so any extra fuel will just be returned to the tank via the return line so you will never even notice any difference.

Ok, so update..
I didn't do anything to the car, drove it last night. Got in it today started right up.
BUT the check engine light and trac light are both gone?

W.T.F. It's gotta be electrical some where.
Maybe a bad ground, any body know ground locations?
I have found 3 so far under the hood.

So it's slow to start? Or the starter cranks slowly? When it cranks slowly, use a voltage tester at an end point (cig lighter, or pull a light bulb) and see take not of the voltage while cranking, then when it cranks normally (fast) do the same. If the difference is huge, I would say either you have a bad cable, corroded terminals, or battery going bad. Generally Fuel issues will manifest in normal cranking speed, but slow to fire.

It does crank slow.like dead battery.
But 5 minutes later fast crank and kicks right over!
I'm thinking a bad cables.
