SC300 Ever Sold in Canada?
Just curious if the SC300 was ever sold in Canada....anytime I've seen an SC either on the street or for sale, it's always been an SC400.

I'm a Canadian owner of an SC400. SC300's were not sold in Canada so if you see one for sale, its an import from the USA. You can confirm by viewing it and taking a look at the speedo as the outer perimeter of the speedo will be in mph instead of kph.

Canada never gets any good cars. In the states can you get options on the SC430? I know here in Canada there is one package, and now they just made navagation an option. I haven't ever seen a SC300 in canada, wonder if you can import them here. I saw a 98+ SC400 w/ Alberta plates cruising around here in Victoria... it HAD to have been imported... just looked weird, I think Canada had SC400 92-96. Do you know what options were on SC400? I know somehow mine doesn't have a sunroof and spoiler... I haven't ever seen a SC4 here w/o those.

I remember reading the fuse section of the manual and it says that there is one fuse in the car for daytime running lights for Canadian cars. Check it out.

Canada got SC400's in 1997 for sure...my friend has one and it is definitely a CDN-market car (daytime runners, bilingual English/French labelling, km/hr speedo, etc.). I think Lexus Canada told him there were fewer than 50 sold up here that year or something.
The navigation system "problems" for Canada are that none of the mapping companies that supply the software maps for the in-car systems have bothered digitizing Canadian info and selling it to any of the car makers. Looks like Lexus must have finally struck a deal with someone - the maps do exist (lots of public safety fleets and trucking fleets are using them today - I've sold wireless systems to them using these in fact). I had to laugh when I was in the Lexus showroom with my friend checking out the SC430 and the sales manager said "the GPS map system isn't available up here because the satellites don't reach us" ...

It is a shame that we Canucks didn't get the SC400 from '98 to 00 as it would be sweet to have the 300 hp V8.
Us Canucks and Americans can wine more though as the 2.5 l Twin Turbo version was only sold in Japan so of course our friends in the UK and Australia get to drive these babes now.
As far as your question goes on what was sold here, I'm surprised to hear of a 1997 but if it is equipped as you say, you're right. I thought the last year for Canada was 1996.
As far as options go I thought they were all pretty much optioned out. I think the only option mine doesn't have is the 6/8 way power passenger seat.
Cheers,
James
