Default The 5 sppd Swap

So its finally time i swapped my 97 sc300 auto to a 5 speed. I have been gathering the parts i need to do the swap and i now have them all so let the fun begin!

I picked up all this from my buddy for a really good price

Just so we are clear its a w58

Finally no more stupid auto shifter

This is my really S@#ty exhaust that i am sad to say is going back on for now

After about 3 hours the auto came out and i could not resist the chance to do the Capt. Morgan pose on this old thing lol

Thought i got all the oil out guess not.

The new and the old side by side

The flywheel went on with no problem

Looked kinda cool

New clutch master cylinder

New shift boot on.

Put the new pedals from driftmotion.

Now im just waiting for my new clutch to get here so i can finish it.

Keep us posted on the progress

makes me want to do mine even more now. It sucks having all the parts and deciding whether or not to do the swap... but i have it on good authority that i should do it anyway...

Looking good. How well does the clutch pedal clear the left foot rest? Also, what is the difference between the auto front drive shaft and the one from the W58?

thx The clutch pedal clears just fine i mean i didnt really look but it goes all the way back so im happy lol. And the diff between the drive shafts is the w58 is shorter than the stock auto so the drive shaft is like 3 inch longer thats it.

Yea its really not that bad the only real hard part was getting my exhaust off and getting the top to bolts of the trans.

Planning on getting a SC300 soon and saw your manual swap and found driftmotion swap kit.
