Default Transmission problems

ok so here goes, i purchased a 3041le jdm transmission because mine went out. I have been reading up on what trans is suppose to be in my 97 sc400, my car had a 3040le trans and from what i have been reading is that it is suppose to be a 3041le. The trans in my car is the original verified by looking at the vin plate on it. So i got the new trans and the main conector on the outside of it has 6 prong plug, mine has a 8 prong plug, this plug im talking about is on the rear left side when looking at the tail end, the one that hooks up to all the solenoids, every thing else was the same except for a sensor on one of the trans cooler fitting, my old one didnt have that so i switched fittings and swapped wire harnesses that hooked up to the solenoids. Everything was good untill i was trying to hook up the two big solenoids, the plugs on those where dif, so i swapped those with my old ones, now everthing is hooked up, put the trans in and now it hesitates in first gear and the skips second. I got a code p0758 shift solenoid b. I assume thats whats causing the skip shifts, but could that be causing the car to be really slugish in first gear and have a hesitation before shifting?
