I hope you know you bought the wrong pump, suppose to be a power steering pump not a water pump.

Should of just tried to flush your P/S first since its like $10. Suppose to be cherry red. Mine was black as oil and it sucked driving when i changed it world of a difference.

Edit - 5. - oh and as i accelerate, steering slightly becomes easier.
This is because the system uses vacuum from the intake manifold to regulate the PS assist. The more you open the throttle, the stiffer your steering.

EDIT^^^CANCEL THAT ORDER!!

Yeah, you definitely want the power steering pump. It doesn't hurt to change the water pump though.

Did you check if the wires are connected, maybe you have some wiring problem and your p/s work.

When I serviced mine, after installing it it was too damn hard til I realize that I miss to connect the wirings. There´s a plug located in the pump that you must connect to the car (it´s hard to find it and harder to plug-in) maybe in your car this is unplugged or have some broken wire.
