Im not 100% sure, but maybe someone will elaborate a bit more, but just taking a guess I would say tachometer for sure not sure about the speedo though.

Your speedo will be the same. Your tach will show more RPMs.

There is also differences between years. 92-94 are are interchangable, 95 and 96 are swappable (I think) and 97 + are the same (I think).

Differences in clusters include backlighting design, needle color and polarity, 4 speed auto and 5 speed auto, green lights on indicator, and of course manual vs auto in the SC300.

All the above is 300 to 300 - 400 to 400 only. I just wanted to point out there are many differences in clusters.

I don't know. I have pieced together 400 and 300 clusters and installed in a 400, but never tried a direct swap. What is wrong with yours?

I have a sc300 manual cluster in my sc400 auto and everything works except the tach which does not show enough rpm so I would also like to know if there is a way to fix this? I did search for the resister mod but found nothing really helpful in my case...

Nope. 92-94 have different needles than 95 and starting in 95 is the little green indicator between the turn signals that tells you your lights are on.

Yeah, that should be identical between SC400 and SC300 of same model years - assuming SC300 is auto.

Depending on how bad and where its burnt (I cooked one too) you can repair it. If you carefully scrape away the green stuff with a razor to expose the copper, you can solder wires to it. If it melted at the connector... you could still solder, but it would be more of a pain.
