Where to mount crossover front speakers
I'm preparing to install front infinity kappa component speakers in the front doors. I need to replace the weatherstripping for the driver's side window first due to a bad seal.
I noticed the crossovers are quite larger than the previous ones I had. I would really prefer to mount the crossovers some where on/in the door. Obviously I can't mount them on the outside of the inner door shell, because the door panel won't allow for the clearance. So that pretty much leaves me trying to mount them inside the door some where behind where the speaker mounts to the door which would be ideal because its protected from water. But when i looked there's nothing really to mount them to... Just wondering what everyone else has done when it came to this. Just don't know where to put them. Any tips?

just get a safe spot, then a self taping screw to screw them in. put some double sided tape on it so there will be something in between the crossover and the door. be carefully that you don't hit your window if you screw the crossover on. if that does not help use the search to see where other guys put theirs. cheers.

I really appreciate that, I'll try that spot out and see if there's enough room. Thats the size of the old crossovers I had, the newer crossovers are a little bigger I guess due to it being a component set. I didn't think there was that much clearance between the panel and the door. Thanks

I really implore you to consider the hertz speakers over the kappas and kappa perfects as the hertz are miles ahead in sound. Those 4 inch drivers sound so much bigger and the clarity can still be heard perfectly at 95mph with the sunroof and windows down. They are amazing. I still run my kappa perfect sub though and it integrates quite well. The infinity speakers sound tin like at high volume where as the hertz keep the mid range.
