Well, either way you're going to need a deck or sound processor mounted elsewhere.....I personally would have it slide in through the top, then have a left piece slide in with the doc connector. I don't like the idea of having to slide from the passenger side and reach between my buddy's legs to get my ipad in, but that's me (not from a homophobia stance, but I don't really like to invade people's personal space.) Luckily you could relocate your climate control front plate to the center console storage bin and the back behind the dash by just extending the wires, would probably do the same for a deck so you can drive the amps / speakers correctly.
