Wow! I like how clean the painted parts came out...It makes me wonder why most SC owners who want a black interior just do this is a much cheaper alternative? Now I wonder, does SEM paint eventually start to peel and flake off?

i have done that before and know it is a lot of work. the only thing that is not going to like that paint is the plastic parts like the oh **** handles, carpet door sil trim and the bottom part of the dash. I did this to my first sc about 4 years ago. the guy who currently owns it says that all the parts i prepped and painted still look great. it just the hard plastic pieces that i had trouble with.

The hard plastic pieces have to be stripped down with sandpaper (wet/dry) and primed then painted with flexible automotive paint.

To the OP, did you guys use an adhesion promoter before you painted those pieces, if so you shouldn't have any problems with the paint peeling. And to get deep color penetration for the carpet you have to soak it in black dye over night.
