quick google searches gives me ~ $34k for parts including his 7k install, not including shipping/tax/other misc parts/stereo/stuff he didnt list. $50k is certainly feasible IMO.

just the turbo is $1800
the brakes are $5000
wheels are likely $3500-4000 + tires
his clutch is $2500

if i were the op, i would keep the car. most people here will tell you your car is worth xxx (likely a lowballed figure), when in reality its worth whatever you want to sell it for, within reason of course. keep in mind we are not in the most prosperous of economic times, so price your car accordingly. post your car in the classifieds and i wish you good luck.

Exactly
Maybe he got riped off by the ShOP ok but i know this guy and his car and yes he paid alot of money to get the stuff about 2 or 3 years ago.
When i found out how much he spent i was like they should atleast give you
a V160 with the car.

Just keep the car. It's nicer then most people will be willing to pay for it. Even at $35k you take a HUGE loss.

again im not trying to be rude or put the car down but if these are the prices he paid for these things than he should have known he was NEVER going to see his money back.

$5000 for brakes???? come on!!!----$4000 for those average looking wheels?????, he did a poor job in budgeting his modifications than if thats the case.

That's list price, usually when you walk into a shop and say I want finished product "X" they will work a bit on parts prices and you won't pay retail for each and every part....Hell, you walk into a Serramonte Lexus and they cut you a 10% deal on parts for major services! Point is, I could say I have a $6K stereo in my other car, and in truth, retail is $6K, in truth I paid roughly $2800.... I'm guessing that's more like it. I've seen what $50 looks like into a car as one of my best friends specializes in GM LSx performance builds, and trust me, that SC isn't $50 worth, unless you're adding the price of the car when it was only about 6-7 years old. Or he ordered a new motorset from Toyota Japan and had it expressed shipped. "Overnight from Japan" lol. This guy says he paid cash for his IS-F, so he sounds pretty well off, and those people don't stay that way by paying retail. I'm not bashing either, it's a gorgeous car, but at the end of the day, it not worth what HE'S wants to sell it for, it's only worth what SOMEONE will pay for that price I could buy a different swapped SC300, AND a 99-00 SC400, or GS400 as a DD. Either way, good luck to the OP, but not even at an auto auction would that car bring even $30.

6 pot rotora front brakes are $2500, 4 pot rotora rear brakes are $2200
ugly wheels or not, they are forged

to each his own as far as modifications and money spent are concerned.

a car is not an investment at all. but if he wants to sell it for $35,000, who really cares? none of you seem interested in buying it. if someone is interested, regardless of the price, they will contact him and negotiate. i dont understand why you guys are so upset.

Original poster, I would keep the car...you're only losing if you sell it...assuming you dont get your asking price which is hopefully a typo.

MOD - Can we lock this one up? I think everyone is going to speak the same peace and it's going to turn into a 10 page fest, or argument.

35,000???

I think there is $20K in cash under the drivers seat...

Get real OP, even on ebay Supra's with far better mods and condition are selling for wayyy less...did I mention thats on ebay....LOL

If you parted every nut and bolt you'd be lucky to get $25K much less $50K...

You're BSing up the wrong crowd here...everyone knows retail vs street value of labor and parts...

Trying selling elsewhere, just my honest advice...otherwise its just going to bash over bash here....just look at the other threads of cars for sale...

well im not upset but i am in shock at the asking price thats all.

I guess if he did put all that money into he should have more to show for it thats all.

Anyways i wont be commenting any further as i dont want to come across as a basher or a negative person.

Good luck to the seller
