Maybe we are all wrong.....?

I mean think about it....

Camaros back in 1969 sold for what? Like $10,000 (I have no idea...but let's just say for now)... If every guy that sold a 1969 Camaro decades after it was first bought for under $10,000, that's all the car would be worth and that's all people would be willing to pay.

If you get guys paying asking price on a rare car (and the SC is becoming rare....especially a clean one), that car becomes more valuable and next thing you know every owner realizes how much they can sell them for. Just look at the Supra... same story, if it wasn't for the movie and the craze that followed shortly after, it would be nowhere near $50k for a clean example.

Just let the guy go maybe? Maybe someone buys it for $35k and then we can all appreciate our cars and ask higher numbers for them.

Just a theory....

The only issue we have here is the simple concept of supply and demand....

Although the demand is high for a cool car like this...there is a problem with supply. Sure the supply is extremely LOW, but the guys that do have SCs like this, are willing to SUPPLY them to buyers at a much lower cost than $35k. And that's the biggest problem.

MOST used aftermarket parts lose alot of value very quickly and especially if there still on the car while your trying to sell it. Its hard to swallow as a seller who's invested so much but thats the harsh reality of it that you have to settle with and be realistic.

car is top notch with quality parts, looks to be taken great care of and got to respect keeping it clean stock body

so what if he asks 100k for it, that's what he feels like its worth to him but wont be same for buyers, if it doesn't sell oh well, he can either adjust the price or keep that bad gurl

this is lexus forum, please keep the teenage honda scene theme on a dl, i love the car, would buy it in a heartbeat, but dont have enough funds, not gonna go bash about it all day

anyway gl with that car

I don't care if this thing had 3.4l stroker! The only way its selling for 35k is if he's got 23k cash in the glove box. This isnt hating btw, this is called "get real". And if he wants to sell it for 100k, you're right, let him. But don't tell me or anyone else that we can't tell him he's crazy.

Sir, you are crazy! A fool and his money are soon parted, but soon after they are parted, that fool is driving off in a 800hp supra. I'm just saying.....

Yo Jap,

Congrats on the baby man. We just had one too.

Over 6 years I put over $28,000 into my SC so I feel your pain. Building it the way you were you should have known you’re going to either take a big loss or end up being buried in your SC when you kick the bucket. Ride it out. Keep the car. You may find later on down the road of life you wish you did.

If you really need the money start parting it out. That’s what I’d do. The parts market is still good as a seller. Plus you got CL & SF forums to work with. When you get it back to stock sell the SC too.

Pull the motor, put a ge back in it and sell the car for $6000. Then sell the motor for $29000. Wait, what?

Keep the car. You'd lose too much money on it. It's a nice car, but most Club Lexus people wouldn't pay that much for it. For whatever reason, nice SC's sell for really low prices on here. It's not the best time to sell it.

Yeah, I agree. It's best to keep the car, it's not worth selling.
