Exclamation Should I switch?

I currently have a 97 SC400 Renaissance Red with 185k on it and I have and opportunity to get a 2000 GS400 Spectra Blue Mica with 85k on it. I would trade my car plus $4500 no interest. My car needs a repaint and new leather in the front I am providing pics of the GS any advice is greatly appreciated. I am a long time reader and new poster.

I would do it. The GS platform looks really nice if done right.

Go for it bro, the GS has way more space and is a better option for a family anyway.

Just trying to keep the peace. In the last 6 Months I have done the timing belt and water pump (2nd time 1st time at 90k) and I rebuilt the transmission. So I will just fix this one up. Full repaint new interior and switch out the 19"s for 20"s

It makes sense to do the deal, tell your girl your gonna have to invest the repaint the sc anyways. Is it your money or hers? Also make some crap up like your car also needs a tune-up,brakes,etc,etc. Tell her in the end its gonna cost you the same that it would if you get that gs.

Sounds like a great deal, but the GS just seems so common around SoCal now that I'm proud to have my SC. It's your choice.

I thought about that too. In South Florida it is probably a 7 to 1 ratio. I really wait a LS430 Ultra. I guess I will build this up and then keep this on the side if I find a LS I will probably never get rid of this one.

In the last year I have done Brakes, Timing Belt Water Pump, All Power Steering Hoses, Power Steering Pump, Alternator, Lower Control Arms and Rebuilt the Transmission. She is aware of all of that it has been my money for everything.

I get it- wedding are expensive, and dropping over $4k right now on a car swap after you've already put so much in can be hard to justify. It seems like she's saying that if you spend the $4k right now you'll have to delay the wedding, correct? Well good luck to you man, and remember a good woman is a hell of a lot harder to find than a nice car!

remember this after you get married: It's cheaper to keep her and alimony lasts a lifetime.
